UITWIJKEN: LONELINESS

Uitwijken (Suburbs) - organised by Brugge Plus - consists of a travelling caravan that gives the residents of Bruges neighbourhoods a taste of art and culture with a very low threshold. A drawback that the residents themselves mentioned is that the initiative is temporary. We therefore looked for ways to offer the neighbourhoods something permanent after a few beautiful weeks of Uitwijken. From Bruges 2030, we sent illustrator ViktoirViktoir and photographer Cato Crevits to the Bruges district of Male to gather stories about loneliness in the neighbourhood. They created tangible works of art that will be given a permanent place in the neighbourhood.
